This course provides an overview of the State’s budget process including the roles of the Governor, State Legislature, Office of Planning and Budget, elected officials and agencies in the budget process.

Learner Outcomes

Upon successful completion of this course, the participant should be able to:

recall Georgia’s governmental structure
identify constitutional and statutory provisions that govern the budget process
discuss how strategic planning informs the budget process
explain how agency budget requests become law
recall how the budget is monitored and maintained throughout the fiscal year

Attendance Policy: Our classroom training requires attendance during all parts of the instructional program. Instructors are required to take attendance and cannot approve student absences during class time. Please carefully consider your schedule when selecting class dates.
