About 200 tree species occur in Georgia’s Piedmont forests and woodlands. In this class, students learn to identify some of the most common of these by their leaves, bark, branching patterns, and tree form. Students will learn to use a hand lens and a simple dichotomous key for woody plants to identify species.

This class is an elective course for the Certificate in Native Plants.
