The Advanced Video Game Design experience is for veterans of the introductory video game camps who want to immerse themselves in the game creation experience. You’ll be placed on a small team, where you’ll work at a fast pace to develop a playable game level from scratch over the course of one week. Students will take on roles like those in the actual game industry, including artist, programmer, designer, and project manager, and will learn about alpha and beta testing, quality assurance, level design, programming, and marketing. This experience will be highly collaborative and extremely challenging, but students will be rewarded with an in-depth experience and a playable product. On the final Friday of camp, teams will present their final projects at the annual Prototype Playtest, which is open to family, friends, and invited video game professionals.

Note: Prior completion of the introductory course is required, and all students must be cleared by the Program Coordinator and Instructors before signing up. The Instructors will work with students to assess their skills and create a program set to their needs and skills.
