1481 | School's Out: Barrier Island Exploration

Join our marine educators for an exciting exploration of Beach Hammock, a small barrier island just north of Wassaw Island. We'll hike along the sandy shoreline, searching for interesting shells, and then use a seine net to discover fascinating marine creatures in the water.  

Registration is required and includes admission to the UGA Aquarium. Children ages 10 and up are welcome but must be accompanied by a registered adult. 

Special Notes:

• All boat activities are weather-dependent and require appropriate and adequate closed toe footwear and clothing. There is no guarantee of wildlife sightings, but every program will include information about estuary ecology and conservation.   

• UGA boat captains reserve the right to cancel boat programs in the event of unsafe weather conditions. You will be notified the day before your trip.
