Join us for an excursion to Wassaw National Wildlife Refuge and spend the day on one of Georgia’s undeveloped barrier islands.

The trip will entail exploring the North end of Wassaw Island with marine educators. We’ll anchor the skiffs along the shoreline, hike along the northern part of the island looking for seashells before sampling the surf for cool marine animals using a seine net. Children ages 10 or older are welcome but must be accompanied by an adult.

Special Notes:

  • All boat activities are weather-dependent and require appropriate and adequate footwear and clothing. There is no guarantee of wildlife sightings but every program will include information about estuary ecology and conservation.

  • UGA boat captains reserve the right to cancel boat programs in the event of unsafe weather conditions. You will be notified of any program changes the day before your trip. Back-up dates are scheduled two days after the original date of the trip. No refunds are provided unless both dates are canceled.

Cost: $56

*All program fees are non-refundable*
