Course Description

One of the garden’s largest and most well-known festivals–Insectival–is going virtual this year! Participants will receive a virtual package full of informational videos, tours, activities, crafts, and the popular butterfly release from our favorite entomology experts. Join garden staff and partners as we celebrate our beloved six-legged neighbors!

Registrants will receive the Insectival virtual package beginning September 19th and will have access to all materials through October 3rd. On September 26th registrants are invited to join a live family friendly Q&A webinar with entomology experts, followed by the first-ever virtual butterfly release. Optional add-ons like our Hello Bug Box and curated plant collection designed for pollinators are available to complete the Insectival experience.  Insectival is sponsored by the State Botanical Garden of Georgia, UGA Lund Club, UGA Department of Entomology and Georgia Museum of Natural History.

$60 Hello Bug Box: Enjoy the Insect-ival Insect Café in your own home! Each meal kit will contain produce grown in the Children’s Garden at the State Botanical Garden and recipe cards with delicious ways to prepare each item. Optional insect protein can be added for that extra crunch and nutrition!

$33.00 Curator Plant Collection: Show beneficial insects some love and celebrate the Year of the Pollinator 2020 with a pollinator care package. A selection of six pollinator favorites curated by our conservation staff will provide pollen and nectar for spring, summer, and fall and include hosts for butterfly and moth larvae.
