This week-long course introduces students (ages 14–17) to the fundamentals of cinematic storytelling through a hands-on, project-based filmmaking experience. The course will teach young filmmakers how to transform an idea into a cohesive motion-picture using accessible tools, under professional guidance.

Students will learn how to develop a short visual concept from script to screen, covering foundation-level elements such as story basics, cinematography basics, editing, crew positions and on-set workflow. Each day focuses on a different element of filmmaking, culminating in students shooting, editing, and screening a two minute scene by the end of the week.

The camp emphasizes filmmaking basics, collaboration, and offers students an authentic “on-set” experience that builds confidence and inspires further exploration in filmmaking. By the end of the week, students will have basic foundational knowledge of what it takes to create a short film, as well as a completed two minute scene.

Students will also receive a “Bulldawg Certificate of Completion” for filmmaking basics at the end of the week.
