2161 | Code & Cognition: The AI Lab
Go Beyond Using AI. Learn to Build It.
This summer, step into the role of a developer, innovator, and architect of the future. Code & Cognition: The AI Lab is a pre-college intensive at the University of Georgia, designed for ambitious teens (ages 13-17) who want to master the technology that is changing our world.
This isn't just about using chatbots—it's about understanding the code behind them. Whether you're a seasoned high school coder or a curious beginner with a logical mind, this program will give you a powerful new toolkit.
What You'll Do:
Guided by university experts, you will move from theory to application in a hands-on, project-based environment. You will:
- Master the Fundamentals: Dive into the essential programming languages (like Python) that power all modern technology and machine learning.
- Demystify AI: Get your hands dirty with the core concepts of "machine learning," "neural networks," and "large language models." You’ll learn how a machine learns to see, write, and think.
- Build Your Own AI Project: The academy culminates in a real-world challenge. You'll apply your new skills to conceptualize, code, and test your own AI-powered tool—whether it's a smart chatbot, an image recognizer, or a predictive model.
- Explore Tech Ethics: Go beyond the "how" to discuss the "why" and "should we," tackling the big ethical questions that face today's leading developers.
You'll leave this camp with a portfolio-worthy project, a competitive edge for college applications, and a deep understanding of the most important technology of our time.
The future is being coded. It's time to be one of the architects.
