This course offers a comprehensive overview of housing policies and best practices that can be used to address common housing issues in communities across Georgia. Participants will learn about prevalent housing issues in Georgia and learn effective planning and zoning strategies and solutions implemented in Georgia and the rest of the U.S. The course is designed for local government planners, appointed/planning commissioners, policy makers, housing authorities, economic developers, and community development departments.

Learner Outcomes

Upon completion of the course, participants will be able to:

  • Articulate housing issues specific to Georgia.
  • Describe a variety of policies and best practices for addressing these issues.
  • Identify successful housing initiatives and understand the factors contributing to their success.
