This course offers a comprehensive overview of housing policies and best practices that can be used to address common housing issues in communities across Georgia. The course is designed for professionals working in local and state government, such as urban planners, policy makers, economic developers, community development departments, and appointed officials/planning commissioners. Participants will learn about prevalent housing issues in Georgia and learn effective strategies and solutions implemented in Georgia and the rest of the U.S. The course uses lecture and small group discussions to facilitate learning.

Course Outline

The purpose of this course is for participants to learn about prevalent housing issues in Georgia and learn effective strategies and solutions implemented in Georgia and the rest of the U.S.

Learner Outcomes

Learner Outcomes - Upon completion of the course, participants will be able to:

  • Articulate housing issues specific to Georgia.
  • Describe a variety of policies and best practices for addressing these issues.
  • Identify successful housing initiatives and understand the factors contributing to their success

Notes

CANCELLATION AND REFUND POLICY:

  •     90% refund (10% Service Charge) if cancelled greater than 14 days before the class
  •     75% refund (25% Service Charge) if cancelled between 7 and 14 days before the class
  •     No refund if cancelled fewer than 7 days before the class
