Beginning in 2006, Georgia’s General Assembly passed significant legislation related to immigration issues and the requirements for local governments to comply with the Systematic Alien Verification Entitlements (SAVE) program and the Federal Work Authorization program (E-Verify). Effective January 1, 2012 additional complex requirements were enacted.
