Trees may be most beautiful in the winter, when they are stripped down to their basic architecture. But can we know them without their leaves? In this class, students will learn the basics of identifying trees in the winter by learning about twigs, bark, leaf scars, fruits, and tree form. Students will learn to use a hand lens and a simple key for woody plants to identify species.

This class is an elective course for the Certificate in Native Plants.
