Parks, recreation, and active living enhance quality of life, promote economic development, and provide economic benefits to your county.   During this specialty track course, commissioners will learn the fundamentals of parks, recreation, and active living regarding governance and funding as well as better understand the way related services and facilities contribute to a vibrant and healthy community.  This interactive sessi0n will enhance commissioners’ ability to evaluate the quality of programs, facilities, and services and to communicate to citizens the value received for their tax dollars.  The other courses in the Quality of Life/Social Issues Specialty Track are:  Health and Wellness, Public Health; Identifying Funding for Community Enhancement; Demographics and Diversity; Their Impact on Governing; Arts, Culture and Tourism; and Sustainability.
