Conversational American Sign Language Certificate

Participants are required to complete Conversational American Sign Language Levels 1 - 4, or if they have already completed Level 1 or Levels 1 and 2 at some other institution, they are required to complete Level 2 - 4 or Level 3 -4 respectively. All four (three or two) levels must be completed in 2 years. Requirements for successful completion are as follows:

For All Levels: 

1. Attend 8 out of 10 class days

2. Attend at least Levels 2 or 3  - 4 with University of Georgia Center for Continuing Education

3. To move to the next Level, must be able to pass the pre-assessment for Levels 2 - 4 or Levels 3 and 4

In addition to the above requirements, participants will also need to:

3. Pass the Receptive Skills Assessment with a score of 70 or above for Levels 1 and 2 

2. Pass the Expressive Skills Assessment with a Pass and the Receptive Skills Assessment with a score of 80 or above for Levels 3 and 4

To be successful in this program, participants should plan to complete assignments as given by the instructor, participate in in-class reviews and practices, and plan to practice outside of class time by themselves or with other participants.
